Day Two

So...today i wasn't feeling the alvacado dip...sorry! haha so i cooked home aid macaroni and cheese insted! :) So I had literally 1/2 an hour to make this because i had to go see iron man 2 at 7:10pm so i was like okkk?? SO i made to many noodles and made the sauce to thick! what a disaster! I was having a meltdown and the world was about to end! My first mess up and only on the second day!!! I was doubting myself and telling myself i could never cook. And to make matters worse, my mother called me down in a hurry! she insisted i come down right that second, so i went down in my bra! lol crazy but it ended up ok. My macaroni fed 1 person + a bite! lol Well, now that my kitchen is a mess, my little brother is fed, and my meal is cooked, i can finnally rest in bed knowing that my crazy mind is at ease! :)

Day One

Well....for all you readers out there....you are out there right? lol anyways there is a perfect explanation why i didnt blog yesterday or the day before because of some....i guess you could call it a family emergancy? lol ok ok you caught me...i had an opportunity to stay with my cousin and i jumped! ;) but i did start with my one recipe. Now, i was going to a church event, so I didn't make the alvacado dip, but i made home aid salsa! mmmmm....I brought it to church and it was the only thing that was eatin' all! Litterally our church librarian was coming to eat it! I thought it was a success. BUT like every yummy dish, there is a crazy story behind it. You see, church starts at 7:00pm, and I left Frys market place, at 6:58pm!!! So I dashed home, grabbed the blender, and ran off to church! I skipped 40 minutes of the class...oops! :/ ahaha but the salsa was a complete success! Poor people from a different ward in our church were trying to use the kitchen also but i left it a complete mess until 8:30! hahaha well i am FOR SURE making alvacado dip tomorrow so wish me luck! This is Madi Layton signing off, ready for a new recipe, new challenges, new ingrediants, new things to try, and a new adventure! :)

Never Trust A Skinny Cook

Well... i'm sure many of you readers out there have seen or read the movie/book, "Julie and Julia". I have been inspired!:) I, like Julie, never finish any long term goals, and since i love to cook, it will provide me with opportunitys to taste new things, and keep my mom happy by cooking a meal everyday for 3 months. If I like cooking, i will continue it for a year. Now on to what I am cooking. Everyone has a hero in the cooking industry. For some, it's Rachel Ray, for some it's the person that cooks your favorite burger. To me, It's the fat sisters! MMM just their name makes you want to taste their food!! I mean think about it....who wants to try something from a skinny cook! It's like the secret to finding out how good foods taste! I am starting tommarow (Monday, May 24th, 2010). There are 264 recipes in the "Fat Sisters Cookbook", minus the sauces. (In my opinion i sauces dont count!) haha! Well, here I go. Starting Tommarow, I am going to make Artichoke Dip for the very first time!! :)
